How do I get a free OEC membership?
  1. Access the Provincial ATA site or a local ATA Website (if available).
  2. Select the login link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (in the blue bar).
  3. Enter your ATA Online Services login ( If you do not have a ATA Online Services login, you may request an account from the login page.
  4. Once you have logged in to ATA Online Services, review your choices from the menu that will appear towards the right-hand side of your screen.
  5. From the Tools option in your right-hand menu, select the Specialist Council Membership link.
  6. Read about the Automatic Specialist Council Memberships, and then click on the specialist council membership link under Activate your membership.

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

OEC Members:
 • receive a quarterly newsletter to which they are invited to contribute,
 • have access to the members only section of the OEC website,
 • have access to regional and provincial professional development opportunities,
 • enhance outreach education in Alberta, 
 • gain valuable regional networking initiatives.

Can anyone go to the conference? 

Yes.  All members of the OEC can attend the conference at the members' registration rate. Other ATA members and individuals who are not members of the ATA (teaching assistants for example) can attend the conference at the nonmember conference registration rate.

Do I have to be a teacher in an outreach school?

No, any member of the ATA can become a member of this or any other specialist council.  Post secondary students are invited to become members as well as nonmember staff in schools.
